QUICK REMINDER -- APPLICATION DEADLINE is MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th!

Friends,

For over fifty years, the American Medical Student Association has played
an integral role in mobilizing medical students to fight for universal
health care and equipping students with the skills to become effective
leaders. The Universal Health Care Task Force was envisioned to provide
leadership and mobilizing tools to 12 future physicians, so that they may
provide these tools to others in their communities and work to create
action at the state and local level.

If you believe that health care is a human right; if you believe it is
imperative that we achieve universal health care NOW; if you believe that
medical students should be active in the fight for health care justice;
and if you believe that YOU should be a leader in the grassroots movement
to achieve equal, high-quality health care for all Americans, then take
the next step in making Health Care for All a reality by joining the AMSA
Universal Health Care Task Force!

As a Task Force member, you will:
  - Participate in the Health Care Reform Leadership Institute at AMSA's
national office in Reston, Virginia - October 10-12, 2003.
  - Gain important organizing tools to take back to your community
  - Coordinate and facilitate relationships with your state and local
  Universal Health Care efforts
  - Become a member of the AMSA UHC Speakers' Bureau
  - Meet and collaborate with other stakeholders in this diverse movement
  - Become a thought-leader in the movement for fundamental health care
  reform

Please note that you MUST be able to attend the Health Care Reform
Leadership Institute in October, and that you will be responsible for at
least two Universal Health Care activities (education or action) for this
year.

More information and application are available at
http://www.amsa.org/hp/uhcinitiative.cfm.
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, by 5 pm (via email).
