Greg Cook and his group from Texas found a Northern Hawk Owl on the Sand Lake Road in Lake County.  Sand Lake Road is exactly 39.5 miles north of Highway 61 off Lake County Rd 2.  Greg's group also relocated another Northern Hawk Owl on Highway 53 approx. 2 miles south of Cotton in St. Louis County.  Greg inform me that the owl was near the entrance of the waste management landfill area on the east side of Highway 53.  Greg's group also relocated one of the two Great Gray Owls on the Nichols Lake Rd which is the first road just north of Co. Rd 133. There is a green highway sign "Nichols Lake Road" on Highway 53.  This Great Gray Owl was in that zone of 2-2.5 miles east of Co. Rd 7.

Good to see owls this winter!

Mike
