At around 4 PM today, a snowy owl flew low over Cargo Road from
southeast to northwest, just north of the first tunnel, by the glycol
facility. It quickly veered northeast, and alighted on the tip of the
first tall tower north of the UPS driveway entrance. However, in the
time it took to drive around the glycol building for a parking space,
the owl took off to the north/northwest, toward the wetland area known
as Mother Lake. A drive up Longfellow Road and east parallel to 62,
did not give any further sighting of the bird.
