Given that Boreal Owl would be a very exciting life bird for me, my interest has definitely been piqued by the recent reports. However, I'd like to find "my own"....preferably here in Itasca County! (Besides, it seems like many chases are unsuccessful anyway.) I'm wondering if anyone on the listserv experienced in finding Boreal Owls can share some advice for finding this elusive species in winter--what types of places to look, best weather or time of day, etc. Thanks...possibly in advance for a lifer.
