Late this morning Bob Ekblad, Diane Anderson, and I watched a Willet
fly into the shorebird spot one mile north of the town of Nicollet on
the east side of Hwy. 111. The bird cooperatively foraged in front of
us, allowing me to take a few photos. I've been waiting for this
species to show up in Nicollet County since mid-April; I'd pretty much
given up hope that one would appear here this year.

Early this afternoon Bob and Diane found a pair of Cattle Egrets on
the south side of Swan Lake at the public water access. This is the
first access point going west on Hwy. 14 after the turn for the
Nicollet Conservation Club. The egrets were foraging in the prairie
just as you turn onto the dirt road and were visible from the highway
when I arrived.
