The Surf Scoter was still on Pickeral Lake today. This is the same bird
Rita Goranson found last Sunday and John Hockema saw on Monday. Today it
was in the bay just north of the park and could easily be seen from the
highway.

White Woods County Park just south of this area a few miles had a Merlin
among the more normal migrants like Red-breasted Nuthatch, both kinglets,
etc.
