Deb and Steve Falkowski reported a Gyrfalcon near the town of
Virginia on the 17th on the open mine dump hills south of town, on
the east side of Manganika Lake. It was=A0viewable by cross-country
skiing (or snowshoeing) only -- there are no roads into this area.=A0 =A0

GPS coordinates:
Lat 47.49711115876799
Long -92.55912780761719 =A0 =A0

They also said they saw the bird on the 10th, and that it was sitting
on the same perch on the 17th.=A0 It was apparently there for nearly an
hour and then=A0flew north into town, so it may still be in the area.

Jim Lind
