Looking in my 1980 Field Guide to the Birds by R.T. Peterson I see that the range map for the red-throated loons shows a pink spot of breeding territory on the Lake Superior north shore up near Nipigon, Ontario. Does anyone know if red-throated loons historically or even recently have nested in that area?
