I checked out the lake county of southwestern Becker County this
afternoon. There was a very cooperative Red-Shouldered Hawk perched along
the south shore of Nelson lake, just east of the public access. At the
AFLC Wilderness Bible Camp on the east shore of Nelson Lake there was a
small flock of White-winged Crossbills. At about 1:20 off the public
access on the east shore of Cormorant Lake I found a female plumaged Black
Scoter.

There were numerous Common Loons in the lake county, some large raft of
coots, but very few ducks on the larger bodies of water.
