While driving back to Duluth from Sugarloaf Cove this evening, I found a
Great Gray Owl hunting alongside the road. The roads were an absolute mess
this evening, with the currently-falling snow taking place. I headed
towards Sugarloaf Cove early this morning, to give presentations on Raptor
ID as well as birds within Sax-Zim Bog. Other than a few flyover crows and
ravens, no unusual birds were seen while en-route to the cove. While at the
Cove, we had many Black-capped Chickadees, but no other noted birds (likely
due to the heavy snowfall)
