This morning I found two RED-THROATED LOONS from the north end of Brighton
Beach. The Red-throated Loons were seen swimming together, at a great
distance out over the lake. I've attached a photo of one of them (below).
The photo doesn't do the scope views justice, but note the upturned bill,
small & round head, slender neck, and low-in-the-water profile of this
bird's body.

I counted raptors from just below Enger Tower; and what an amazing day of
migration it was! I tallied 178 raptors between noon and 1pm. Had my first
of the season Osprey, and photographed some Bohemian Waxwings and Turkey
Vultures migrating by (pictures below). It was a day of many Turkey
Vultures flying through.
