Hi all,
I just received a phone call from Bob Janson(sp?) who has relocated the Snowy Egret. It is currently (1:00 PM 5/5) in a grassy field to the East of 240th Ave on 240th street. This is about a mile East of previous reports. It is still associating with a group of Great Egrets.
Directions:
From Thief River Falls head west on MN 1 (East from Warren on same) until you reach 260th Ave. There will be a brown “Audubon” sign pointing south. Follow the sign. This is also Polk County 68 and I believe Marshall County 30-something (36?). From there head south 1 mile to 240th street and head East (left). This should be across from a red gate (Agassiz Valley Project boundary). There are two roads here, one on either side of the ditch. You can take either. The bird is 3miles down this road. If it is not in the field, check the ditch along this road. That is the ditch that it has been favoring.
I'mheaded out there now to check it out, but will be unable to provide internet updates until this evening. Until then feel free to call me at 404 316 8609.
