Today around noon I observed 7 cattle egrets at Bartlet Lake Road in
Winona. Six were to the north of the airport and one was in the pond right
off Theurer Avenue. A dunlin, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, and
yellow-headed blackbirds were in the same pond as the last egret.

Yesterday Andy Nyhus, Dedrick Benz, John Hockema and myself found 7 cattle
egrets (perhaps the same ones) and 1 snowy egret in Houston County. The
egrets were seen in multiple locations around the 16/26 interection
(including a half mile west on 16, a half mile south on 26, and half mile
north on 26). Other highlights from yesterday's include a four Common
Gallinule at the corne of county road 21 and 25, a flock of 20+ dunlin on
blue lake, and a single hudsonian godwit and willet just north of the root
river on 26.
