After years of birding Whitewater State Park's Trout Run Trail and finding plenty of Louisiana Waterthrushes, but no Acadians, I decided to try my luck elsewhere in the county.
From US Hwy 61, take Wabasha CR 29 for 1.3 miles, where it will turn into Winona CR 31. Follow for another .5 miles, and park in the small "Wildlife Restoration" parking lot on the right, which is about 20 yds past the gated trail. Walk the trail until you come to it's first intersection where a secondary trail will bend sharply to the right (about 200-300 yds. down).
From this intersection, listen to the left. This spot, and just beyond is where I heard an Acadian sing repeatedly at about 10AM Saturday morning.
