Spent the day around Morrison and Benton counties looking for Snowy Owls
like several others. Thank you to Frank and Milton for sharing location
updates. Interpreting the recent posts of the many locations, and a few
ebird reports I compiled a map of many (but certainly not all) sightings to
help anyone who is interested in pinpointing where some of the recent
locations are. I think the owls often move around a bit so this should just
be a suggested area map.

Today I saw the heavily barred owl close to Sauk Rapids near 35th and Mayhew
Lake rd. (Marked on the map as marker 'H') And a fairly white owl that may
not have been reported on Nature Road and 5th Ave NW (marker 'J') 5 miles
East of Royalton. It flew off south eventually as I watched.

Wonderful owls. First time seeing them. I also wanted to mention that while
the owls are fairly tolerant of passing cars they don't seem to appreciate
the photo tourists parking right underneath their pole. Try to give the owls
some space so they aren't constantly flushed to unknown locations and
harassed by so many vehicles.
