Looking for some insight regarding the marking of Snowy Owls with spray paint or black
polish when banding for easier future identification. I have also read about using this
technique in conjuction with patagial tags too. My concerns stem from a combination of
both being uneducated on the subject and a strong concern for the owl. I would think one
or both techniques might disrupt the bird's senses and silent flight, alter the bird's
attractiveness to a mate, or prevent full camoflouge from both predator and prey. I look
forward to learning more on the subject and in doing so hope to alleviate my concerns.
Thank you for your thoughts...Happy Holidays :)
