Discovered an eastern Yellow Medicine County (southwest of Granite Falls,
MN) male adult Snowy Owl at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014  

Directions:

.         The Snowy Owl was seen 5.3 miles west of MN Hwy 23 from 260th
Avenue midway between 500th & 490th  Streets

.         Gravel Road 260th Avenue intersects MN Hwy 23  from the west
opposite of where you turn east off of MN Hwy 23 to go to Prairies Edge
Casino

.         Owl initially seen on the ground 30 yards south of 260th Avenue

.         Flew north across 260th Avenue and northwest 

.         Landed on a 4 foot white post approximately 125 yards  north of
260th Avenue, plus/minus 5.3 miles west of MN Hwy 23

.         The short white post is on the dividing line between a corn
stubble field and a soybean stubble field

.         That field line is marked with a plastic orange flag on a white
plastic post next to the north side of 260th avenue
