Found a juvenile female Snowy Owl in northeastern Pope County (west of Sauk

Centre, MN & NE of Westport, MN) shortly after 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2,

2014.



The Owl was in Section 1 of Westport Township in the very northeastern

corner of Pope County, 1 mile south of Douglas County and ½ mile west of

Stearns County.



 



Directions from Interstate Highway 94 @ Sauk Centre, MN



·         South on US Hwy 71  ¼ mile to MN Hwy 28



·         West on MN Hwy 28  ten miles to Co Rd 33



·         North on Co Rd 33  two miles to 110th St.



·         East on 110th St.  ½ mile



·         Seen originally in field approximately 50 yards south of 110 St.



·         Owl flew across 110th St. to ridge in field approximately 200

yards north of 110th St.
