The spell is broken!  Finally saw a snowy owl today in Sherburne County - middle of the day, too - about 1:30pm.  I was heading from a meeting at Becker, back to our Sherburne HQ.  It was along Sherburne CR 16, about 1/4 mile west of it's intersection with CR 85.  (this is between CR's 23 and 11).  There's a large field on the north side of the road.  Crows were mobbing the bird, which was sitting on the ground.  It flew off to the west and north and was gone.  Had to get to the office, so didn't try to follow it.  Bird was quite dark - lots of brown.
