Subject: [mou-net] Snowy Owl - Pine County
Date: Sat, Mar 8, 2014 3:38 PM

My friend Joe Sausen found a Snowy Owl in Pine County today, March 8th. The bird was located approximately 1.8 miles north of the Chisago/Pine County line on Pine County Road 23 (Falcon Ave). Pine County 23 runs north and south, parallel with and approximately one-half mile west of Interstate 35. One would use the I35 exit to highway 70, just north of the Chisago County north boundary. I'll leave it to others to decide if this bird has been reported before or not. Reported with Joe's permission - thanks.

Backstory: Joe and I have repeatedly searched the north half of Chisago County looking for a snowy in the county - none reported this winter. Sort of bittersweet that Joe found this bird less than 2 miles from the Chisago County line.
