Went out late afternoon to spot near the town of Clear Lake known for waterfowl stopover, low and behold, the long sought Snowy Owl for Sherburne County on a rise of corn-stubble with a bit of snow patch! SW of Clear Lake along CR57 (labeled as 90th St SE) ~1/2 mi east of CR8 north side of road. Some area birders arrived as it rested there the two hours to sundown. Perhaps of interest, we saw two interesting observations: 1. a complete 90degree vertical upward gaze, a high soaring Red-tailed Hawk overhead. 2. A complete flat profile scrunching itself into the snow patch edge as a couple Bald Eagles came through. It was fun to watch its personality as several Canada Geese, Tundra and Trumpeter Swans flew over. mjb
