The flock of four White-faced Ibis at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge
(near Zimmerman) reported by Betsy Beneke were observed around 7:30am this
morning by Craig Mandel and me. They were very close to CR-17 on Upper
Roadside Pool (on the right/north side of the road), then the group flew
farther back by the gated road.
We also found 17 warbler species, Solitary Sandpiper, Blue-headed Vireos,
Yellow-throated Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Grasshopper Sparrows,
Red-headed Woodpecker, Common Raven, Swainson's Thrush, and a winnowing
Wilson's Snipe, among other species.
Good spring birdin'!
