There was a first-cycle Lesser Black-backed Gull near the floating dock on Lake Calhoun, Minneapolis late this afternoon. It was very cooperative as it bathed for nearly the entire observation time.
Also present were a few Thayer's Gulls, including the darker-mantled individual reported by Paul Budde last week, plus around 200 Herring Gulls and 400 Ring-billed Gulls.
A nice evening to scan the lake with low winds and most birds reasonably near the western shore.
