Many thanks to all who have posted updates. The two elders were seen close
to shore, from the Lake Walk, across from the Essentia Health building,
around 2:30 this afternoon. They were diving repeatedly for awhile,
followed by a bit of preening. At one point, wings were raised, and a
large patch of white flashed from the flank. One of the birds seemed
prepared to rest, tucking its bill under a wing. They showed no inclination
to leave the area, and gave great scope-views---especially appreciated for
a life bird. Linda Whyte
