On Friday, Erika and I heard and eventually saw the Hooded Warbler that
hangs out behind the visitor’s center at Afton State Park. I looked for it
near the ground, which was a mistake—the bird sang from the mid-level of
the forest. Despite poor light, the distance of the singer, and the bird’s
being back-lit, I was able to take a photograph (although far from the
greatest ever taken of the species). See my blog:
