Danny Akers reported a Western Sandpiper at Salt Lake yesterday evening.
Here is his description via eBird (where SESA=Semipalmated Sandpiper and
WRSA=White-rumped Sandpiper):

"Vibrant breeding adult in the southwest backwaters. Scoped from the state
boundary road on the west end. Long decurved beak evident, much more so
than surrounding SESA. similar in size, smaller than WRSA also present.
More extensive flank streaking. Vibrant rufous scapulars, some rufous
coloration on the face. At least 300-350 shorebirds tucked back in here.
Surprisingly sharp contrast with SESA."

Another birder saw a White-faced Ibis out there too, so there are
definitely birds around besides the Gull-billed Tern!

Good birding,
