International Society for History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of

David Hull Prize: ISH seeks nominations for this prize, which honors
an extraordinary contribution to scholarship and service that promotes
interdisciplinary connections between history, philosophy, social

Marjorie Grene Prize: ISH seeks submissions for this prize, which is
intended to advance the careers of younger scholars, and will be
awarded to the best manuscript based on a presentation at one of the
two previous ISHPSSB meetings by someone who was, at the time of
presentation, a graduate student. Deadline: 15 February 2017.

Werner Callebaut Prize: ISH seeks seeks submissions for this prize,
which is intended to advance the careers of younger scholars working
at the intersection of the fields represented by ISH, and will be
awarded to the best manuscript utilizing an interdisciplinary approach
based on a presentation at one of the two previous ISHPSSB meetings by
someone who was, at the time of presentation, a graduate student.

Call for Papers: "Causation and Complexity," the Munich-Sydney-Tilburg
Conference in the Philosophy of Science, 1-3 March 2017. Papers are
invited on any aspect of scientific study of complexity, including
philosophical, sociological and psychological studies of complex
systems science, and on the policy implications of complex systems

Short Course: "Formal Methods for the Philosophy of Science," 27
February - 1 March 2017, University of Sydney. This intensive course
provides an opportunity for advanced students and early career
researchers to learn how to enhance their research through the use of
new formal tools. The course directly precedes the "Causation and
Complexity" conference at Sydney.

Call for Applications: "A Century of Engineering Life: Cells and
Organisms," the annual MBL-ASU History of Biology Seminar, 17-24 May
2017, Woods Hole, MA, USA . The seminar will look at the history of
engineering life by bringing together a mix of historians,
philosophers, social scientists, and biologists for a lively and
intense week of presentations, discussions, and explorations.

Graduate Program: The Center for Biology and Society at Arizona State
University is pleased to announce that it will be accepting

and/or philosophy of science may earn either a PhD in Biology with a
