Call for Session Proposals: 8th conference of the European Society for
the History of Science, 14-17 September 2018, London, UK. The
conference theme is Unity and Disunity'. They invite symposia that
address unity and disunity within and across diverse sciences; unity
and disunity in science, technology, and/or medicine within and across
nations and blocs; unity and disunity in science, technology, and/or
medicine within and across periods; unity and disunity in the public
culture of science, including public display and across media; etc.

Call for Abstracts: 2018 Midwest Junto for the History of Science,
13-15 April 2018, University of Minnesota. A short abstract of 250–300
words should be submitted electronically to Jole Shackelford
([log in to unmask]). With your abstract, please include your name,
institutional affiliation, faculty or graduate student status, e-mail,
and phone number. Deadline: 1 February 2018.

Fellowships: The Center for Philosophy of Science at the University of
Pittsburgh invites applications for fellowships supporting visits in
the Center for a term or an academic year. The Center has invited
William Wimsatt to be the Senior Visiting Fellow for the 2018–19
academic year. We encourage applications for Postdoctoral and Visiting
Fellowships from scholars whose research intersects with Professor
Wimsatt's. We also invite applications for the 2019–20 academic year
for the position of Senior Visiting Fellow. Deadline for all
fellowships: 15 December 2017.

MA Program: The Department of History and Philosophy of Science and
Medicine at Indiana University, Bloomington is offering a new, unique
Master's track: Studies of Science Literacy and Responsible Research.
Deadline: 15 December 2017 (non-US applicants) or 15 January 2018 (US
applicants).

PhD Scholarship: The University of Sydney invites applications for a
new scholarship in the History and Philosophy of Nutrition Science.
The position will be based in the Theory and Methods in Biosciences
research group at the Charles Perkins Centre and jointly supervised by
Prof. Paul Griffiths and Prof. David Raubenheimer. Applicants can
apply for admission as a PhD candidate in either the Department of
Philosophy or the School of History and Philosophy of Science. The
successful candidate will receive a tuition waiver and a stipend of
AUD 26,300 per annum for up to four years.  For further information

Summer Institute: "From Biological Practice to Scientific
Metaphysics," 19-27 July 2018, Taipei, Taiwan. The institute will be
organized exclusively for PhD students and recent PhDs (regardless of
employment) who apply and are subsequently accepted for admission.
Preference will be given to applicants in the East Asian area
including China (PRC), Hong-Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia,
Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan. Confirmed participants will
receive stipends (to be paid after the institute concludes) to offset
their travel, lodging, meeting, and meal costs. Deadline: 15 January
2018.
