The Center organizes study groups, informal colloquia, public lectures, and conferences. Its book series, Theories of Contemporary Culture, is published by Indiana University Press. The Director holds a 50% administrative appointment and a faculty appointment as a tenured professor in an academic department. The Director has the opportunity to teach in the interdisciplinary Modern Studies Doctoral Program and to participate in the Masters in Liberal Studies Program. Applicants should have interdisciplinary research interests, scholarly distinction commensurate with a senior professorship, and a record of intellectual leadership and program development. Administrative experience a strong plus. Salary is competitive. Candidates should submit a letter of application, a current vita, and the names (with phone numbers and email addresses) of 3-5 references. Additional materials may be requested at a later date.
