1. Graduate students in the United States and Canada are invited
to enter the Shryock Medal Essay Contest. The award is given for an
outstanding, unpublished essay by a single author on any topic in the
history of medicine. Essays must be postmarked no later than

January 2005.

invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position to start 1

4. The Consortium for Science, Policy, and Outcomes (CSPO) at
Arizona State University (ASU) seeks to fill a new, tenure-track
faculty position in the general field of science, technology, and
society available for August 2005. Review of applications will

6. The University of Queensland invites applications for two
Postdoctoral Research Fellows in the Biohumanities Project, School of
History, Philosophy, Religion and Classics. The Biohumanities Project
is a five-year research project in the philosophy, history and
socio-cultural studies of bioscience funded by the grant of an ARC
Federation Fellowship to Professor Paul E. Griffiths. Closing date for
