1. Egenis, the E.S.R.C. Centre for Genomics in Society is running a
postgraduate workshop in the Philosophy of Biology on May 24th-28th
2005, "New issues in philosophy of biology - new perspectives
for philosophy of science." The teachers in the workshop
are Prof. John Dupre, Dr Staffan Mueller-Wille, Prof. Paul Griffiths
and Dr Christine Hauskeller. Only applications received

Wellcome Trust. The five-year enhancement award recognizes the

re-establishment as a centre of undergraduate teaching, postgraduate

5. The Southwest Colloquium in the History and Philosophy of the
Life Sciences will be held at Arizona State University on 1-2 April
2005. The topic is "Experimentation and Observation". The
keynote address will be presented by Paul Farber, OSU Distinguished
Professor of History of Science, Oregon State University. The
submission deadline for abstracts is
