To add to this, the single requirement for Flickr listed on the page is slated to go away, but we don't have any replacement requirements or guidelines ready just yet. Ensuring that the license selected for all images is "all rights reserved" for U work product is a start, and if you're doing that you don't need to bake the copyright statement into the image.

Hi Wendy,

A few years ago, University Relations met with representatives from around campus including the School of Journalism, OIT, and the Office of the General Council, to discuss terms of service on various social media sites, best practices for using social media, tools for social media both on campus and off, and standards for the University's use of social media.

The results of our discussions are on the Our Brand website and can be found here: http://www1.umn.edu/brand/requirements-and-guidelines/social-networking/index.php

Let me know if you have any questions!

Kathy

Hello:

I'm wondering if anyone has developed social media guidelines, best practices, etc., for your college/dept/unit that you'd be willing to share.

Wendy
