I hope that an email announcement will go out to meeting participants before the ISH meeting begins, and that there will be posters and verbal announcements concerning this symposium at the ISH meetings as well. I take the unusual step of writing you about this because I have heard that there is opposition to ISH's publicizing the occurrence of this symposium. The participants in the symposium are Chip Burkhardt, Mitchell Ash, Veronika Hofer, Friedrich Stadler, Michael Hubenstorf, Klaus Tashwer, and Doron Rabinovici. Most of you probably know some of these individuals, but for those of you who don't know the first four people listed, let me say that I know them and can assure you that they are serious and accomplished scholars. You will perhaps find it odd that I am writing you to say this, but, once again, I have to return to the reason described in the previous paragraph. I have attached to this email a Word document that provides some information about the symposium, including abstracts of the presentations, for your information.
