Would you like to know more about Universal Health Care?

Do you think the fact that 45 million Americans are uninsured is a problem?

Do you think UHC is a bad idea because people will have to wait for needed
medical services?

Do you think access to affordable healthcare is a human right?
Do you think healthcare is a priviledge?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, please come to a lunch
lecture and discussion on the topic of Universal Health Care in Canada and
the United States on Tuesday, October 25.

We will be screening a short film about common perceptions of Americans and
Canadians on their respective health care systems. The film will be
followed by a discussion of the relative merits and disadvantages both of
the American healthcare system as well as a universal health care system
(such as Canada's).

The film we will be showing was made by AMSA medical students that traveled
to Seattle and Vancouver to study the healthcare systems of America and
Canada. During the trip, students intereviewed Americans and Canadians
about their perceptions of both their own healthcare system and the
healthcare system of the bordering country. Video footage of these
interviews was compiled into this short film.

Please come if you have any interest (favorable, unfavorable or if you just
want to learn more) in universal health care.

Lunch will be provided (not pizza!).

Hope to see you on Tuesday!
