Hi folks, I just picked up another dead Boreal Owl.that's three within the past week (the one from Jim Lind in Two Harbors, the one by UMD and now another that was found late last week in the Lakeside neighborhood). This Lakeside owl was emaciated and was found at the base of a woodpile. I have a live sighting of a Boreal Owl on Scenic 61 just a bit south of the Ryan Road at the corner of Scenic 61 and Spruce Court. It was perched in a spruce tree in the late afternoon yesterday. The woman sent me a digital image. She checked around her property today and didn't see it, but will keep me updated if she sees it again. A request! If anyone finds a dead owl (or ANY RAPTOR, for that matter) in the greater Duluth area, I'd like to collect it. We have all the necessary state and federal permits. Please contact me-my information is below. Good owling, Debbie ____________________________ Debbie Waters Education Director Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory P.O.
