This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, November 26th 2009.

A possible GLOSSY IBIS is being seen in Otter Tail County, but looks
have been insufficient to make a definitive identification. From
interstate 94 go south on county road 1 to county road 2. Turn west on
county road 2 and drive for seven miles to 135th Avenue then go south
one mile. The bird is usually close to the road from here to the south.

A BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was still in the Duluth harbor in the 22nd,
associating with a group of Common Goldeneyes on Lake Superior at 21st
Avenue East. Also present were both BLACK SCOTER and WHITE-WINGED
SCOTER.

On November 21st, a first-year CALIFORNIA GULL was on the break wall on
the Minnesota side of the Superior Entry in Duluth, St. Louis County.

The MUTE SWAN reported on November 11th was still at Snail Lake in
Ramsey county on the 24th. Check especially from the southern shore of
the lake. Another MUTE SWAN was at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve in western
Hennepin County on the 20th.

On the 25th, a SNOWY OWL was along U.S. Highway 169, a half mile south
of its junction with Aitkin County roads 54 and 56. In Koochiching
County, a GREAT GRAY OWL was along Pine Island Road just north of County
Road 30 on November 20th.

More than a hundred TUNDRA SWANS were on Fisher Lake in Scott County on
the 22nd. There are also increasing reports of NORTHERN HAWK OWL,
BOHEMIAN WAXWING, COMMON REDPOLL, and PINE GROSBEAK.
