This is the Minnesota Birding Report for October 7th, 2010.
A BAND-TAILED PIGEON flew past the overlook at Hawk Ridge in Duluth on the morning of October 7th, but it has not been since. The bird was heading north.
At least one PARASITIC JAEGER is still being seen at the far end of Park Point in Duluth, and since October 1st, two RED-THROATED LOONS have been seen from the Point's Recreation Area.
Observations of southbound migrants continue to come in slowly. I have reports of ROSS'S GOOSE, WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, COMMON MERGASNSER, AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, and EVENING GROSBEAK. I am not sure what to make of the Rose-throated Becard reported from Ramsey County on October 5th.
