This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Tuesday October 19th, 2010.

A COMMON GROUND-DOVE was discovered by Bill Stauffer on the 18th in
Richfield, Hennepin County, and it has been present all day today. The
bird is near the western side of Hyland Park Reserve. From the junction
of I-494 and East Bush Lake Road, go south for two and three-quarter
miles to the entrance to the Hyland Park "Play Area" on the left. Turn
east and drive about half a mile to the parking lots near the end of
this road. Park in the lot on the right and look for the dove on the
gound near the curb of the lot on the north.

On the morning of October 17th, a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER was on Lake
Harriet in Minneapolis and it was seen on Lake Calhoun in the afternoon.

In Aitkin County, Warren Nelson found a GREAT GRAY OWL on the 17th along
Aitkin County Road 18 about two and three-quarter miles east of U.S.
Highway 169.

On the 15th, two jaegers were at the Park Point Recreation Area in
Duluth, one was a PARASITIC JAEGER and the other was probably also a
PARASITIC JAEGER.

The next scheduled update of this tape is October 28th, 2010.
