I stopped and asked what he was looking at. When he told I jumped out of the car and ran over for look. The bird was in the middle of lake so a scope is needed. It was present @ 12:49PM, Sunday, Oct 17, 2010. I saw an adult male White-winged Scoter on Lake Harriet. It was near the middle of the lake hanging out with a Pied-billed grebe. There were a couple of Common loons too, but very few other waterfowl. Good luck.
