This is the Duluth Birding Report for February 3rd, 2010 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

The VARIED THRUSH in Ely on Main Street across from the Pillow Rock historical marker was still present on the 2nd. Norma Malinowski saw a HOARY REDPOLL on the 29th along North Klondike Drive on the east side of Miner's Lake. She saw five EVENING GROSBEAKS on the 3rd and 40 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS on the 1st in the same area. Dave Grosshuesch found four BOREAL CHICKADEES on the 3rd along MN Highway 1 near the Snake Trail, south of Isabella.

A GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL was again seen by Peder Svingen on the 30th at Canal Park in Duluth. Mike Hendrickson saw a GLAUCOUS GULL here on the 29th. Jan Kraemer saw 200 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS on the 28th at Foster Avenue and West Page Street in the Duluth Heights neighborhood. EVENING GROSBEAKS have been found during the past week along Water Street in the Fond du Lac neighborhood of west Duluth.
