This is the Duluth Birding Report for April 28th, 2011 sponsored by the
Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

A LAUGHING GULL was found by Jan Kraemer on the 28th at the Park Point
recreational area boat launch. It was later relocated on the harbor side
of Hearding Island. A record early WHIMBREL was found on the 22nd by
Peder Svingen at the recreational area ball fields, and it was still
present on the 28th along with an immature GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL.

A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was found on the 28th in the Duluth Harbor
at the north end of the Bong Bridge. Peder Svingen saw an ICELAND GULL,
six GLAUCOUS GULLS, and a GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL on the 23rd at the
Superior landfill.

Deb Falkowski saw late BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS as recently as the 25th in the
town of Virginia.
