This is the Duluth Birding Report for April 20th, 2011 sponsored by the
Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

An immature GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen as recently as the 19th in
the Duluth Harbor at the north end of the Bong Bridge.

A late HOARY REDPOLL was seen by Jan Kaemer as recently as the 19th in
Duluth Heights, and another was seen on the 19th by Jan Green along the
Old North Shore Road in Duluth Township. Shawn Conrad saw a late flock
of 20 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS in Itasca County on the 17th on Park Drive in
LaPrairie.

New arrivals in the area during the past week include AMERICAN WIGEON,
WILSON'S SNIPE, HORNED LARK, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, and BROWN-HEADED
COWBIRD.
