Early this morning I spied a pair of red knots feeding along the beach mid-way
along Wisconsin Point, surrounded by gulls and terns. They proved tolerant of
my slow approach, allowing a long look. Later a couple of fellow birders
showed up and all 3 of us were able to re-discover this pair of birds up by the
breakwater at the end of the point. This time they were accompanied by
dunlins, sanderlings and ruddy turnstones which are zooming off and back onto
the shore along both MN Point and Wisconsin Point this week-end. MN birders
can hope to catch sight of the knots at either location.
