This October 24 will mark the first celebration of Food Day (www.foodday.org), a nationwide event that will bring people from every part of the food system, from farmers to consumers, together to celebrate food as well as to discuss the future of food in this country. The Healthy Foods, Healthy Lives Institute is organizing a student-led planning committee for Food Day events on the University of Minnesota campus. Committee meetings would begin in June and meet approximately every other week throughout the summer and into the school year, leading up to Food Day on October 24. Undergraduates and graduate students of all backgrounds and disciplines are encouraged to join this committee.
