Hi, Dan.
Thanks for your message. We won't have a beta version prior to launch at the end of this week, but you can get a feel for the vision, design and functionality through the updates and details shared on the brand blog: http://blog.lib.umn.edu/brand/blog/

We have gone through rigorous testing, working with the Usability Lab, and found that process to be very helpful in fine-tuning the home page. Due to the timeline for launch, there are some enhancements we are already planning for phase two. The feedback we receive after launch will be helpful in determining priorities for that phase.

Thanks again and we look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Best,
Laura

That's great that UR is working so hard on this.  Will there be a beta version the University's web developers can check out and give you feedback on before launch?

I think we'd all love to see your hard work, and offer any help we can, I think we all know how helpful good feedback can be!

SENT ON BEHALF OF ANN ARONSON

Communication colleagues,

I am happy to inform you about the University’s redesigned home page which will launch at the end of this month. University Relations has been working diligently to create a virtual face that best meets the needs of the University's stakeholders including students, donors and alumni, faculty, staff, and more. Considerable analysis of best practices and current trends as well as ongoing usage and behavior of the current site were used to develop the new design.

The new home page will deliver a customized experience by allowing individuals to self-select an "audience view." The University of Minnesota will be a leader in the field of higher education by meeting the growing expectations of website visitors to identify the type of information they want.

The new home page will launch by June 1. There will be a "Tell Us What You Think" link in the lower right corner. Please take a moment to share your feedback once the site is live. We value your input!

Thank you,

Ann Aronson
