2. The Embryo Project at Arizona State University announces an NSF-funded Training Grant.  Beginning in January 2012, they will select a cohort of 6-8 visiting graduate students to join their project for writing, editing, and informatics training as part of the Embryo Project.  A formal selection process will begin in the fall; however, they are seeking expressions of interest nowhttp://www.ishpssb.org/listserv/20110625-2.html

3. The Simpson Center for the Humanities and the Program on Values, Department of Philosophy, University of Washington, invites recent PhD's with expertise in research integrity / research ethics to apply for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in "Biological Futures in a Globalized World," beginning in September 2011.  The Biological Futures Postdoctoral Fellow will play a pivotal role in developing an integrated, cross-campus research ethics training initiative in the (non-medical) natural and social sciences at the University of Washington.  The deadline for applications is 22 July 2011http://www.ishpssb.org/listserv/20110625-3.html

4. Call for abstracts:, "The History and Philosophy of Biological Rhythms Research (Chronobiology)," University of Minnesota, 11-12 May 2012. This conference aims to encourage research in this area by bringing together historians, philosophers, and chronobiologists who are interested in reflecting on biological rhythm studies in a multidisciplinary historical framework. 5. Call for abstracts: "Western Michigan University Medical Humanities Conference, September 29-30, 2011, Kalamazoo, Michigan.   The conference aims to explore a wide range of themes within the medical hunmanities, though a primary focus will be on why medical humanities matter, whether in practice or in the training of our health care professionals.  A secondary focus will be on what the medical humanities are; how is it that we delimit the attendant issues?  The conference is meant to be highly interdiscliplinary. 6. Following an introductory series of twelve 15 minute videos on Evolutionary Principles, Donald Forsdyke announces a second series of 12 videos on Natural Selection.  These deal with historical aspects of ideas on natural selection, with special reference to the complex interactions between Charles Darwin, Patrick Matthew and Samuel Butler. http://www.ishpssb.org/listserv/20110625-6.html

7. Call for abstracts: The second biennial "Philosophy of Biology @ Madison Workshop" (POBAM), University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI.  The workshop is designed to provide a biennial forum for new work in the philosophy of biology.
