This is the Minnesota Birding Report for June 23rd, 2011.

On June 19th, Phil Chu found a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL in Wright County
at Smith Lake in Middleville Township. The gull was on the peninsula
about 250 yards west of the public access on the east side of the lake.

On the 19th, Audrey Evers found an adult male WHITE-WINGED SCOTER at
Fisherman's Point of Whitewater Lake in Hoyt Lakes, St. Louis County.

And unusual was the very late WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW found by Anthony
Hertzel in Rock County on the 18th, in a marshy area on the north side
of 241st Street, one and a quarter miles east of U.S. Highway 75.
