This is the Minnesota Birding Report for July 7th, 2011.

On June 30th, Brian Smith found a COMMON MOORHEN with two chicks on the
small wetland on the north side of U.S. Highway 14 at the
Rosenau-Lambrecht WMA in Brown County.

On June 24th, two RED-THROATED LOONS were at the east end of Brighton
Beach in east Duluth near the Lester River, three more were seen on the
25th on Lake Superior well out from the end of Park Point, and on the
26th, one was found off 31st Street of Park Point.

And very unusual was the WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW reported on the 26th at
an undisclosed location in Kandiyohi County.
