The American Medical Student Association: Pharmaceutical Policy Leadership in Medicine Institute January 6th-8th Washington DC

Interested in learning about drug development and access to medicines, or how pharmaceutical marketing and conflict of interest affects patient care? Want to learn how to design and implement a campaign that advocates for patients? 

The American Medical Student Association is implementing a 3-day institute to train undergraduate, graduate and medical students to become advocates of change for pharmaceutical policy. Through the speakers and curriculum presented at the Institute, participants will learn to use a range of transparency tools and advocacy tactics to strategically design and implement campaigns centered on current pharmaceutical policy issues. Experiences will include a visit to the FDA and educating by FDA policy makers, talks from research and advocacy experts on Global Health and Access to Medicines, and workshops with student leadership on implementing program and campaigns at your medical school.

Apply now and AMSA will cover food, lodging, and tuition costs courtesy of a grant from the state Attorney General Consumer and Prescriber Education Grant Program which is funded by the multi-state settlement of consumer fraud claims regarding the marketing of the prescription drug Neurontin.
