Heavily marked young Snowy Owl at MSP airport at 5:10 pm today, January
5th. It sat
on a short pole a little over 100 meters past the (southeast) end of the
UPS parking lot on Cargo road for 12 minutes. Then flew off to the
southwest, low to the ground, and I lost track of it in the dark.

First year Iceland Gull at west outlet of Black Dog Lake - on the Minnesota
River channel side, with two first year Herring Gulls and a few
Mallards. There at 3:50 pm and still present when I left at 4:10.

One adult Franklin's Gull near the east outlet of Black Dog Lake at 4:30
pm. Standing on the ice on Black Dog, alllll the way on the opposite
(southeast) side of the lake, with about 150 Herring and Ring-billed Gulls.
A spotting scope was necessary to see the Franklin's.
